Prayer Focus: October 8-15

Please be in prayer for God to open our eyes to the ways we can serve those around us and in our community. Pray for doors to be opened in relationships with our neighbors, family members, or others God puts in our path. Ask God to give us wisdom as we step into the messiness of life or difficult conversations of speaking truth in love. Pray that God would help us to reflect Christ’s character in our relationships and that they would bring glory to his name.  Ask God to help us to reach out.

Read John 15:12-17 and ask God to help us be in relationship with him first, and then to boldly go out to love and care for others.

Prayer Focus: October 1-8

Pray over our nation and the current state of tension we find ourselves in. Pray for Christians to step boldly and lovingly into that tension. Pray for God to reveal ways that we can hold fast to His commands and teachings while also bringing the gospel of Jesus to a world that so desperately needs it. Help us to remember the grace poured out towards us as Jesus paid the ultimate price for our sins as we engage with people in the world who hold differing opinions and beliefs than we do.

Read Ephesians 4:25-32 as you reflect and pray on how we ought to interact with each other in the church as well as with those in the world.

Prayer Focus: Sept. 24-Oct. 1

Pray for God to help us share the Gospel with those in our lives who have not yet heard or accepted it. Pray for wisdom for those who have hardened their hearts towards the Gospel and the Church of Christ. Ask God to give us patience and help us pray knowing that He is the one who stirs the heart and gives the gift of faith. Share the names of 2 or 3 people that you want to have a faith conversation with so others can be praying with you that God would bring the opportunity.

Read Acts 8:26-40 and reflect on how we can remain faithful and ready to act when God presents us with a Gospel opportunity. Pray that God would help us remember the questions that Pastor Rich has given us as tools to begin the conversation.

Prayer Focus: September 17-24

Pray for our adult community groups as they begin this week. Pray for each group as they gather to belong and learn that God would be at work in the participants' lives. Ask God to create a place of safety and trust where people can share and be encouraged with life's joys and struggles. Pray for people who are not in a small group that God would stir their hearts to take a step of living in community at King of Glory.

Lift up our community group leaders and hosts, asking God to give them wisdom to lead and guide their group. Pray that God would raise up new leaders and hosts as we grow and welcome new people to our church family.

Prayer Focus: September 10-17

Pray for our children’s and youth programs as they start up this week. Pray for the children as they gather and begin to explore or further explore what it means to follow and emulate Christ in and through their young lives. Pray also for the youth as they gather and begin wrestling with the challenge of living out their faith in a world that does not always see different circumstances and situations through a Christ-like lens. Lift up our teachers and leaders on both Wednesdays and Sundays who dedicate themselves, their time, and their God-given gifts to invest in the future generations of this church and the kingdom of God.

Pray that the Lord would provide for all needs throughout this next year of family ministry programming and that we would all faithfully seek Him as our primary source for all our needs. Read Matthew 18:1-6, consider the weight of importance placed on the faith of a child by Christ and the call to marvel at, encourage, and protect the growth of this faith in the children God places in our lives.

Prayer Focus: Sept. 3-10

Join together in praying for wisdom in decision making. Ask God to give each of us and those in your sphere of influence a spirit of discernment. Pray for supernatural ability to make decisions in a complex and divided culture. Ask God to put people around us that will help us apply God's Word to specific circumstances in each of our lives. Pray for a spirit of discipline for each person in our congregation to be routinely reading God's Word so that we each have a strong foundation when making different decisions. Ask God for discernment for complex situations where we are seeking to be loving while also speaking difficult truths.

Prayer Focus: Aug. 27-Sept. 3

Please join us in praying for those who are experiencing a season of grief. Pray that God would put people in their pathway who can listen, encourage, and pray with them. Pray that God would soften the hearts of those grieving to receive help from one of our care team members or a member of their community group. Ask God to protect those who are grieving from isolation in this difficult season.

Pray that God would give wisdom and compassion to our Care Leaders - Julie, Will, and Randi Helder - as they walk alongside individuals who have experienced a loss or situation that is bringing grief. Pray that the presence of God and the eternal hope we have in Christ would give renewed strength to those experiencing grief.

Prayer Focus: August 20-27

Join together in praying for our educators, parents and students. Ask God to give wisdom, strength and energy to administrators, teachers, and staff at the various schools in our community. Pray that God would empower them by his Spirit to see the needs of their students and to inspire those in their care.

Ask God to provide love, understanding and insight to parents, guardians and caregivers of students. Ask God to strengthen them so they can be a source of strength, confidence and hope for their children.

Pray for the students that God would grow them in grace and wisdom. In areas where there is lack, provide students with knowledge, understanding, council and fortitude. Provide safety and keep them from harm.

Prayer Focus: August 13-20

Please join together in prayer for Harbor Families, a ministry program of Lifeline Children’s Services in Sioux Falls, that King of Glory partners with. Pray for the families who are in need of care for their children so that they would receive the help and support needed to be a healthy family.

Ask God to provide the needed host families and family navigators so families in need would not be turned away. Ask God to provide all the volunteers serving these families with energy, passion, and Christlike love. Ask God to give wisdom to the leaders and staff of Lifeline as they oversee the ministry and make plans for continued ministry.

Join together in praying for our “Belong” Focus for the remainder of the summer at King of Glory. Pray that God would open each family’s schedule to be able to attend one of our summer events. Ask God to give each family a desire to live in community with one another. Pray that God would strengthen relationships and build new relationships through these events.

Ask God to reveal to us the need for accountability, for someone to celebrate with, and for someone to help us grieve as those seasons come. Pray that God would give courage and prompt any families who have not attended to take a step of faith to begin to build relationships through these events.

Prayer Focus: July 23-30

Join together in prayer for family relationships. Ask God to strengthen relationships between children and parents, along with healthy relationships between siblings. Pray for God’s wisdom to guide all of us in our interactions with our immediate and extended family members. Ask God to be at work in the life of family members who do not know Christ.

Pray for God to open conversation opportunities to care for the spiritual health of family members. Pray for healing and reconciliation where there has been strain in families. Ask God to clothe us with grace and patience towards one another in our families.

Prayer Focus: July 16-23

Please lift up in prayer Mission Haiti as they seek to bring hope and love in the name of Jesus to the people in Haiti. Pray for the King of Glory team that is leaving Friday for Haiti (Pete & Jenni Egstad family, Kyle & Brittani Johnson). Pray for safety and provision. We pray for wisdom and discernment for Paul and Bethany Perrissien, as well as their team, as they seek to do what is best for the people they serve while following Jesus.

We pray that the hearts and minds of the people will be open to the Gospel and that the Lord would work in miraculous ways in the people there. Ask God to lead and guide King of Glory as a church as we seek to live out the Great Commission in our community as well as our mission partners.

Prayer Focus: July 9-16

Join together in prayer this week for our King of Glory Leadership Team and staff. Ask God to continue to bring physical healing to Pastor Rich as he recovers from his open-heart surgery. Pray for the staff as they continue to plan and implement the day-to-day ministries. Ask God to give the Leadership Team wisdom and discernment for our vision and top priorities for the remainder of 2026. Pray for understanding, clarity, and unity for implementation.

Pray for our new Children’s Ministry Coordinator, Maycee, that God would provide for her and her family and they would feel welcomed and cared for by our church family. Ask God to give our staff (Pastor Rich, Julie, Will, Ryan, Trista, Mikaela, and Maycee) a consistent passion for people and the ability to equip our congregation for ministry.

Prayer Focus: July 2-9

Please lift up those who are struggling with doubt in their faith and discerning how God is working in their life. Pray that they would know God and his people more intimately. Pray that God would place the appropriate people in their life to help them understand the will of the Lord and His plans and purposes for their life. Pray that they come to know and appreciate the wonder and mystery of faith and take comfort in the knowledge that God goes before us and has each step ordered out.

Read Psalm 106. Ask God to help those who are struggling with doubt to fill them with the hope of the gospel, His love for them, and restore them to a relationship with Him.

Prayer Focus: June 25-July 2

Please join in prayer this week for people in positions of authority, our elected officials, as well as those who serve our country (military, law enforcement, and first responders). Pray for wisdom for our government leaders for all decisions to reflect justice and love. Ask God to surround the President, Congress, and all local and government officials with wise counsel.

Pray for those serving in the military, that they would be protected and have guidance in their daily work. Pray for our first responders and law enforcement officers that God would protect them and help them as they serve our community. Give God thanks for the freedoms we enjoy and pray that we would use them responsibly and for the benefit of our neighbors.
