Frequently Asked Questions
Is King of Glory affiliated with a denomination or other churches?
King of Glory is an independent congregation that is not affiliated with any denomination. The congregation has final authority in approving the annual operating budget, any land/building purchases, any debt approval, calling of any Pastor, election of Leadership Team Members and approval of Core Teachings. The Leadership Team elected by the congregation provides monthly oversight of the programs and operations of the church. Weekly programming and daily ministry is overseen by the staff who are hired by the Leadership Team and under the direction of the Senior Pastor. King of Glory is made up of a variety of individuals and families who come from various church traditions such as Lutheran, Reformed and Baptist so there are differences within the congregation on various church practices.
How does membership work at King of Glory?
A membership class is offered every January where anyone interested in learning more about King of Glory Church can learn about our vision, Core Teachings, Church structure and programs. Individuals or families can complete a “Membership Covenant” to officially become a member. Members of the church are allowed to vote at the Annual Meeting where the Leadership Team is selected, Annual Budget Approved and any other special congregational decisions are made. The “Membership Covenant” is renewed every January. This is done so we can have an up to date membership roster that accurately reflects those engaged in the church. The annual renewal also provides an opportunity for all of us to be reminded of the commitments we make to the Lord and one another in being a member of this local church.
What does King of Glory offer for counseling services?
Our Pastor or Staff would be honored to visit with you to determine how we can best walk with you through different seasons of life or connect you to trained professionals that we trust are seeking to care in a Christ centered way. In some instances our Pastor or staff will schedule regular visits to engage in a process of care or may determine that an introduction to a counselor may be most helpful. King of Glory is prepared to provide any necessary financial support for recommended counseling services. Please visit our “Care” page under “Ministries” to learn more about the specific avenues of help available.
Does the church have security protocols in place?
Every Sunday during worship we have an identified individual who is stationed in the lobby or parking lot that is overseeing activity to determine if there are any issues. The individual is responsible for making staff aware or immediately contacting authorities themself if there are any concerns. This approach provides us with eyes and ears that are attentive to the overall safety of everyone while the congregation is worshiping or visiting. The safety and security of our children is of utmost importance so every volunteer who serves with children receives a background check.
What is the best way to get involved in serving/volunteering or generally more active in the church?
The best way to get connected is to spend time with one of our staff members who would love to learn more about your interests and questions. The staff would be honored to meet for coffee or lunch to find the best volunteer opportunities within the church or our community service areas where you might be interested in giving of your time to bless others. Staff can also help you discern if there is a Community Group that would be appropriate to join or if a mentorship opportunity may be the best pathway for your spiritual growth at this time.
