Day Camper Sign Up Now

Now is the time to sign up to be a Day Camper at King of Glory’s Congregational Weekend from Friday, August 15 (check in at 4 pm), until Sunday, August 17 (check out by 4 pm), at Inspiration Hills Camp and Retreat Center, located near Inwood, Iowa.

Over 30 families have signed up to camp at Inspiration Hills for the weekend. However, families who are not camping are still welcome to come and enjoy the weekend, or just a day, as part of our church family. This will be a great time with activities, building relationships, and enjoying God’s creation.

If you are not camping, but are planning to come to Inspiration Hills on Saturday and/or Sunday, please complete the form below so we can get accurate numbers for food preparation.

King of Glory will provide all the meals during the weekend. On Friday evening, a light meal will be served for families who are camping. On Saturday, there will be breakfast, lunch, and an evening meal. On Sunday, there will be a light grab ‘n go breakfast and a catered lunch following the 10 am worship service. There will be no worship service at King of Glory on August 17.

There will be numerous activities to keep people busy, including hiking, archery tag (age 10 and over), axe throwing (age 13 and over), basketball, pickleball, disc golf, volleyball, and 9-square. Some of these activities will require camp staff supervision, which will require people to sign up for them.

Some special events have been planned. On Saturday afternoon, the swimming pool will be open from 1-4 pm. This is the only time that the pool will be open. Also, Bingo will be held from 3-4 pm in one of the picnic shelters.

After Saturday evening’s meal, there will be a special KOG version of “The Amazing Race” for individuals of all ages. There will also be bonfires on Friday and Saturday nights.

More details regarding mealtimes, event times, and sign-ups will be available over the next few weeks.

In addition, there are still a few campsites available for anyone with a camper or a tent. Sites come with electrical and water hookups. They may be used for a camper and a tent, or two tents. Some sites share an electrical hookup, so we will need to know what amp requirements you will need. Campsites have a fire pit and picnic tables. A bathhouse is nearby. Please contact Kim Van’t Hul at kim@kingofglorysf.org to reserve a campsite.
