K-5th Grade: Our Bible story this week comes from John 2:1-12. Jesus is at a wedding in Cana when the hosts run out of wine. Jesus asks servants to fill jars with water and then makes wine that amazes the guests! It’s the first time Jesus publicly shows that Jesus has God’s power.
Preschool: Our Bible story comes from the book of Esther. We learned how God used Esther to save the Jewish people from a bad king. In the same way Jesus came to Earth to save us from our sins. Esther's self-sacrifice mirrors the ultimate sacrifice Jesus gave on our behalf. We also learned how God made Esther for that time and had a plan for her life and in the same way He has a plan for each child's life and will use them for good.

K-5th Grade: Jesus calls four fishermen to follow him. They immediately leave their nets to follow him. Jesus also calls Philip, who recruits his friend Nathanael. Nathanael is impressed by Jesus’
knowledge of him. Jesus changes all of these men’s lives, and Jesus can change our lives, too.
Preschool: In this story we see how Samson fell short just like we do but Jesus never does. Jesus helps us overcome our temptations and follow his truth. Jesus restores and rescues us.

K-5th grade: Before he starts teaching and healing, Jesus takes 40 days of quiet time in the desert. When he's weak and hungry, Satan comes to Jesus and tries to tempt him in three ways. But Jesus shows us the right way, and he uses Bible verses to say no to temptation.
Preschool: Long ago, a man named Balaam was paid to try and curse the Israelite people, but he wasn't listening to God. While he was riding his donkey, an angel of the Lord stood in the road, but Balaam couldn't see it. His donkey could, so it kept trying to get out of the way, causing Balaam to hit it. Finally, God made the donkey talk, which got Balaam's attention and helped him see the angel. The story teaches us that God can use anything to get our attention, and it's important to listen to Him and do what is right, not just what is easy or what someone else wants.

K-3 grade: In today's Bible passage, John the Baptist baptizes people and preaches about Jesus. When Jesus comes, John baptizes Jesus. At Jesus' baptism, the skies open and God the Father announces that Jesus is his Son.
Preschool: The Israelites saw a land full of blessings but let fear stop them. We do the same—we doubt, we worry, we sin. Jesus is our Joshua—He leads us to God’s promise and never fails. We can trust His strength, not ours.

K-5: At age 12, Jesus is at the Temple for a festival and gets lost. His parents look for him for three days and find him in the Temple, wowing the people there because Jesus is wise. After he returns home, he continues to grow in wisdom. Luke 2:41-52
Preschool: The Israelites grumbled, doubted, and disobeyed—and so do we. We need someone to lead us faithfully, like Moses led the people—but even better. Jesus is the perfect leader who never sinned and always obeyed God. He gives us living water and the Bread of Life.

This week K-5th grade learned about a group of wise men who’ve studied the stars notice an unusual star and follow it, looking for the newborn king that had caused the star to rise. When the wise men find Jesus, they worship him because Jesus is the king. Hearing of this, King Herod wants to kill Jesus, but God leads both the wise men and Jesus’ family to keep Jesus safe. This week's story came from Matthew 2:1-18 if you wish to read the story again with your children.
Preschool learned about the ten plagues of Egypt and how Moses led God's people out of Egypt. We learned that just like the Israelites needed someone to rescue them from Pharaoh, we need Jesus to rescue us from our sin. Moses helped save God’s people temporarily—but Jesus saves us forever. Our story this week was a shortened version of Exodus chapters 5-14. CLICK HERE to play the new song they learned and sing it throughout the week.
