High School Youth Update 1/20/16

Greetings!

One reminder! There will be no high school youth group January 27th as we meet with our students and parents who are going on our summer mission trip to Jamaica.

Our high school group has been going through a series called BASICS by Francis Chan. The previous lesson was on fellowship. As we look back to the beginning of creation, we can see that God has not created us to live alone! In fact, the one thing in His creation that was not good was man being alone. And so God created Eve, a helper and partner for Adam. Today we have a community as well; it’s called the church. Not a building where we gather, but a body of believers who come together and share everything with one another. This idea of community, of fellowship is something that we all crave; we all want to be a part of. One of the main problems is that it often feels easier or safer to isolate ourselves and problems.

This past Wednesday we took the night to discuss some of the questions on fellowship from the previous week. While there some examples where fellowship seem to have vanished, there are also some great example as well! It was so great hearing some of the thoughts and ideas our students have on how to continue to build this fellowship among the high school students and congregation as a whole here at King of Glory!

As we continue in our BASICS series, if there are any questions, or if you would like more information about our high school youth group, please feel free to contact me!
