It’s our call and passion as Christians to love our neighbors.  Through the organizations and programs listed below, we corporately reach out to meet the physical, emotional, financial and spiritual needs of our neighbors. The City Love Teams given below are how we as a church love our neighbors here in Sioux Falls. Please consider joining a team today where you can show mercy to people right here in Sioux Falls. King’s Kloset

What is King's Kloset? Encouraging and empowering those in need by providing household items along with care, support, prayer and friendship.
When? 3rd Saturday of every month from 8:45 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Where? Located at King of Glory Church
Volunteer job description examples:
     Greeter:  Welcomes guests at the entrance door and gives them a number.
     Announcer:  Calls numbers for guests to go to registration table
     Registration: Greets guests and gets them registered into computer system.
     Product assistants:  supervise product, visit with and assist guests as needed
     Refreshment hosts:  serve juice, coffee and treats and visit with guests
     Prayer person:  serve at prayer table, visit, discover needs and pray with guests
Time Commitment: Each team member is asked to serve a minimum of six distributions during the year (each distribution
time is approx. 3 1/2 hours)

Southridge Nursing Home

What does this team do? Serve the elderly residents at Southridge by showing care and building relationships.
When? Bingo: Saturdays from 2:30-3:30p.m., Birthday Parties:  2nd Monday of each month from 2:30-3:30 p.m.
            Making Cards:  Leader will schedule group work days, but can also be done on your own time.   
Where? Southridge is located at 3600 S. Norton Ave., Sioux Falls
Volunteer job description examples:
     Bingo helpers:  assist with playing Bingo, visit and help as directed by staff.
     Birthday Party Hosts:  serve cake, ice cream and refreshments to residents and visit and assist as directed by staff.
     Card creators:  hand make cards for the various holidays above.  Leaders can train and help beginners get started. 
Time Commitment: Volunteer will serve a minimum of once a month in one of the serving areas (Bingo is 1 hour, Birthday
party is 1 hour, Card making is 1+ hours 

Terry Redlin Elementary School

What does this team do? Serve students and staff through various needs shared by school teachers and administration.
When? Times will vary depending on need but could include lunch hour during the week, or 1 evening or day a month.
Where? Located at  1721 Austin Street, Sioux Falls
Volunteer job description examples:
     Mentors: through LSS volunteers are matched with student at Terry Redlin.  Volunteer serves during lunch hour.  Eat,
     visit, play board games, encourage and builds relationship with student.
     Readers:  read with students
     Project work:  assist with book drive, supply drive, teacher treats, or other needs that arise as directed by administration
     and teachers.  
Time Commitment: mentors serve 1 hour week during school year, readers serve minimum of 1 hour per month during
during school year.  Volunteers serving on projects would commit to minimum of 1 project.

Center of Hope

What does this team do? Serves our community by offering affordable clothing, bikes, health education, and spiritual care.
When? Tuesday-Friday morning and afternoon hours available.  Thursday evenings or Saturday mornings.
Where? Located at 225 E. 11th Street, Suite 101, Sioux Falls
Volunteer job description examples:
    Sort clothing:  Go through donated clothing and divided by size, gender, etc.
    Bike repair:  help in the bike shop fixing and cleaning bikes for distruibution
    Front Desk Greeter:  welcomes and assists guests
    Nurses:  Offer health education and being available for guest to ask health questions.
Time Commitment: A minimum of 1 hour a month

Pettigrew Heights Renewal

What does this team do?  This team will be doing light construction work on homes in the Pettigrew Heights Neighborhood. 
This team will be helping bring renewal to this part of town and we will begin that journey by doing hands on projects with homes.
It will include everything from tearing out sheetrock to installing new flooring. No professional skills are required as a variety of opportunities will be available. There will be lawn clean up and misc. other tasks as we help renew a core neighborhood in our community. This team will be partnering with the SF Ministry Center in helping turn downtrodden houses into vibrant affordable homes for rent or purchase.  

Time Commitment: Multiple work sessions will be scheduled each month. Each team member is asked to serve at a minimum of a 2 or 4 hour work session each month.
