King of Glory Church,
It has been a difficult week in our city and state. There are many who have been negatively impacted by the bad weather. It’s our responsibility as followers of Jesus to respond when our neighbors face challenges. Check out the following video to see how we are responding as a church. We can not help everyone but we can’t let that stop us from helping one, two or a handful. We must be faithful with what God has given us.
This coming Sunday (September 15) we will seek to care for those who have been impacted by these storms. All of our offering this coming Sunday will go towards individuals that have been displaced as a result of this storm. We will seek to help people in a responsible way with things such as a deposit for a new place to live or furnishings that have been lost not covered by insurance.
Along with our normal offering, I want to encourage you to bring a small extra gift for one specific mother and daughter that have been impacted. They were only allowed to return to their apartment for ten minutes after the storm due to the structural safety of the building. They have lost everything. Please consider bringing a small gift card ($10.00 or $25.00) to Target, Wal Mart, etc. If you want to buy something specific you can bring clothes or toys for the young girl. She is size 4T. She enjoys play dough, coloring books and magna tiles.
If you have been displaced because of the storms or are facing a difficulty as a result of the storm please reach out to Julie Burnside or myself. We have resources available that can help.
It’s important during seasons like this that we remain faithful in our gathering together. We must keep our focus on the eternal God who loves us and has given us eternal life through Jesus Christ. Please come this Sunday to sing praise, listen to God’s Word, give an offering to worship God and be present with others. Thank you for being connected to King of Glory Church. See you in worship on Sunday.
