This summer the high school students in Student Ministries will go on a backpacking trip to Four Loop Pass just outside Aspen, Colo. The dates of the trip are July 17-24.
The business of day-to-day life can become overwhelming. We get caught in continual wave after wave of activity and loose sight of eternity by being overwhelmed by the present. This trip will provide high school students the opportunity to get away and unplug in God's amazing creation, while at the exact same time being challenged physically and spiritually.
The trip is open to students who will enter the ninth grade this fall through 2014 high school graduates.
According to Student Ministries Coordinator Kyle Helder, the cost of the trip will be $295 per person, but it is dependent on how many students go on the trip and what type of vehicle will be needed. This cost includes food, transportation and rental equipment. Students will need to provide their own hiking boots or very sturdy shoes.
The group will leave July 17 at 5 p.m. and camp at Murdo, S.D. On July 18 the plan is to camp in Denver, Colo., giving the group time to reach the trail on July 19. Depending on how long it takes on the trail, Helder said the group would return on July 23 or July 24.
Students are asked to notify Helder if they plan on going on this trip. Contact him at 605-271-3456 or via email at Kyle@kingofglorysf.org. The deadline to sign up is April 30.
