Due to a low response, this weekend's Student Ministries Spring Retreat has been modified.
Instead of an overnight lock in, the students will have an abbreviated schedule on Friday, April 25, from 8-11:30 p.m. The group will still pack food bags at Kids Against Hunger on Saturday, April 26, from 10-11:30 a.m.
Student Ministries Coordinator Kyle Helder said there are a maximum of 40 spots available to pack food. He is hopeful that the group would comprised of approximately 20 students and 20 adults. This is a great opportunity for adults to serve alongside the middle school and high school students and build relationships with them.
Because Kids Against Hunger does the bulk of its fundraising through this food-packing program, there is a cost to pay for the supplies that will be used. Helder said there will be no cost for students, but there will be a $20 per person cost for adults.
Kids Against Hunger is located in the Avera Building on 33rd Street and Minnesota Ave.
Students and adults alike are asked to complete the registration forms on the church web site to sign up for the spring retreat and also the Kids Against Hunger service project.
