“Take Back the Night,” an annual public event sponsored by The Minnehaha County Family Violence Council, is scheduled for Thursday, October 10, from 6-7 p.m. at the Old Courthouse Museum in downtown Sioux Falls.
The event is held in conjunction with October being Domestic Violence Awareness Month. It is used to raise public awareness of domestic abuse and sexual assault. They are planning a soup and pie dinner along with two speakers who are survivors of domestic abuse as well as a candlelight march outdoors.
King of Glory women are asked to sign up to volunteer to bake pies, help serve the night of the event, or sign up to participate by coming to the event. King of Glory has been asked to provide six pie serving volunteers.
The Minnehaha County Family Violence Council is a problem-solving group of individuals from several area organizations who work together to address domestic violence issues in our area.
