Beginning in September, King of Glory will offer a weekly Kids’ Worship service during the regular Sunday morning worship service. The first service will be on September 8 at 10 a.m.
Until now Kids’ Worship has been offered one Sunday per month.
Kids’ Worship is offered for children in preschool through third grade.
Now that Kids’ Worship will be offered weekly instead of monthly, there is a greater need for volunteers to help teach and assist with the worship service. The plan is to have volunteers serve on a team of three members with a commitment of helping one Sunday per month.
Anyone interested in helping with Kids’ Worship is asked to contact Julie Burnside at Julie@kingofglorysf.org or 605-271-3456.
What is Kids’ Worship?
It is a ministry offered to families with children ages preschool to third grade. It will be offered every Sunday throughout the school year and once a month during the summer months. Children will worship in the regular service with their families during most aspects of the service except during the “message” portion. At that time, this age group is invited to Kids’ Worship.
Why Kids’ Worship?
King of Glory exists to make disciples of Jesus Christ to the glory of God. We believe God has ordained that parents are to be the primary leader in this discipleship process. In partnership with parents, the Kids’ Worship portion of the service will provide age appropriate teaching to children that they can connect with to equip them with a life of faith. Information and tools will be provided to parents to help them discuss and build on these biblical teachings at home. In 4th or 5th grade, children receive instruction and begin receiving communion. At this age, we believe children can benefit from the “message” portion of the regular service. This will provide parents the opportunity to discuss each week’s message and take the lead in discipling their children.
