Items, Volunteers Needed for King's Kloset

There is still a need for both items and volunteers for this month's King's Kloset Distribution Day, scheduled for Saturday, August 17, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the Sycamore Center.

The August Items of the Month are bottles of tear-free shampoo along with men's and women's deodorants (2.4-3 oz. sizes).

Besides products, volunteers are needed to assist with distribution on August 17. Volunteers meet at 9 a.m. to set up for distribution. Anyone who is able to help serve is asked to click the button at the top of the page to fill out the online volunteer form.

Individuals are encouraged to bring these items with them to worship on Sunday mornings. There is a drop off box at the Welcome Table. This Sunday will be the final Sunday worship service before this month's distribution.

In addition, items may be dropped off at the Sycamore Center on Wednesday night prior to The Essentials Roundtable Discussion that begins at 6 p.m.

Last month, items that were donated by the congregation were given to families at the two daycares to introduce them to the Kings Kloset. Families were given a King of Glory grocery tote that included bubbles, chalk and deodorant along with information about King’s Kloset.

The notebooks and crayons that were donated have not yet been distributed, but plans are being finalized to do that.

"The products donated by the congregation are given to families in need in one way or another and not stockpiled," said Katie Reilly, missions trustee and member of the King's Kloset outreach team. "Even though we are still growing and our numbers are a bit smaller on distribution days, we give out the products and they are blessing families. We are going to grow…I just know it!"
