Spring Storm Serve Sunday

I hope you are doing well in the midst of the Spring storm. I wanted to make you aware of a change of plans for this coming Sunday.

As the family of God, we must care for one another and also extend a caring hand to others who are in need. On Sunday, April 14, we are modifying our schedule and plan to serve the community due to this week's storm. We will worship at Sioux Falls Christian Schools at 8:30 a.m. and depart to serve at 9 a.m. We will serve by cleaning up branches at homes that need assistance. Please see the information below to get further details.

If you need assistance, or if you know a family that needs assistance, please CLICK HERE to sign up.

We know that we will not be able to get all of the lawns done, but we will prioritize and get a schedule in place to do more work in the days and weeks to come.  This is an opportunity to look to the needs of others before our own.

Schedule:
8:30 a.m. Worship
9:00 - 11:45 a.m. Serving
11:45 a.m. Lunch (Meat & potatoes provided...please bring a dessert or salad)

Will there be opportunities besides cleaning up branches/etc?  YES. There will be multiple groups that will be going to members' homes to bake goodies that will be taken to various city workers to bless them. There will also be a need for some people to stay with the young children at Sioux Falls Christian. We are asking all who are physically able to help with the branch clean up, but there are other ways to bless others during this time so please feel free to particpate in the baking!

What should I bring? Come dressed for working in lawns. Bring a chain saw or any other equipment that would be appropriate to help clean up lawns. All supplies will be provided for those who are going to help bake goodies.  If you are able to bring a chain saw or other equipment that is helpful please send an email to Kyle at kyle@kingofglorysf.org.

What will the children do? Children from birth through fifth grade will remain at Sioux Falls Christian Schools to play games and spend time with one another.

Are students invited to participate? YES! We would love to have everyone in sixth grade and above participate in cleaning up lawns.

Will we still have the scheduled lunch? YES! We will return from working to have our lunch as planned. If you signed up to bring a dessert or salad please still plan on bringing it.

Thank you for your flexible and serving spirits! We are not serving to get noticed by others, but we serve to benefit others and ultimately for the glory of God.

Press On,
Pastor Rich
