Volunteer Opportunities at Southridge Healthcare Still Available

There are still opportunities for members of the King of Glory family to volunteer at the Southridge Healthcare Center. In addition to helping with Bingo on Saturdays, there is a chance to assist with the center’s “Birthday Party Celebration.”

Each month the residents gather to celebrate the residents who have birthdays that month. Individuals are needed to help pass out cake and ice cream as well as distribute birthday cards to the residents.

The date for the March birthday party is Tuesday, March 26, at 2 p.m.

The date each month is not determined until the events calendar is released at the beginning of the month, but the time is always 2 p.m.

For more information on the birthday party celebrations, please contact Jan Tollefson at 605-336-9566 or via email at heyjan512@yahoo.com.

There is still a need for volunteers to help residents with Bingo on Saturdays. Volunteers assist residents who have certain physical, or cognitive challenges that don't allow them to fully play Bingo on their own, yet they enjoy it just as much as anyone else.

Bingo is played on Saturdays and alternates between either 10-11 a.m. one week and 1-2 p.m. the next week.  About 3-4 people are needed each Saturday to help.

Individuals who would like to help out with the Southridge Bingo ministry are asked to contact Jeff Herreid at 605-275-9144 or via email at coltsfan50@yahoo.com.
