Opportunities to Serve at Southridge

There are a variety of ways to serve the residents at Southridge Healthcare Center, located at 3600 S. Norton Ave.

King of Glory will go Christmas caroling at Southridge Healthcare Center on Saturday, December 21, at 4 p.m. Caroling will last approximately 1 hour. Anyone interested in caroling is asked to meet at Southridge.

Card Making for Holidays & Birthdays
For the last year and a half several individuals have been making greeting cards for the residents at Southridge Health Care Center. They have also been helping with the monthly birthday party on the third Monday of each month at 2 p.m.
For some residents the birthday and holiday cards they receive from King of Glory may be the only ones they receive. It is a blessing to serve in the way.
In addition to birthday cards, residents also receive cards for Valentine's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
On Saturday, January 4, a group will gather at the Sycamore Center at 9:30 a.m. to make the Valentine's Day and some birthday cards. All are welcome to attend. Supplies are furnished. It is a wonderful way to get involved and have fun.

There is a large need for some volunteers to help serve at Southridge Health Care Center and play Bingo with the residents on Saturday afternoons. Volunteers assist residents who have certain physical, or cognitive challenges that don't allow them to fully play Bingo on their own, yet they enjoy it just as much as anyone else.

Bingo is played on Saturdays at 2 p.m. each week. About 3-4 people are needed each Saturday to help. Volunteers are needed every Saturday except the third Saturday of the month.
Individuals who would like to help out with the Southridge Bingo ministry are asked to contact Brenda Loftesness (605-368-5965 or bloftes1@msn.com) or Doris Branjord (605-361-9533 or banjo3@sio.midco.net).
