Due to the positive feedback and strong critical reviews, King of Glory will produce an instant Christmas play entitled "Bethlehem Bound" on Sunday, December 15, at the Sioux Falls Seminary chapel.
Following the production, there will be a congregational meal.
Cast members will arrive at 3 p.m. to register and find out which scene they will be in. Rehearsal will begin at 3:30 p.m., with show time set for 4:30 p.m. The meal will be at 5:30 p.m.
"Bethlehem Bound" is an interactive program designed to allow families to celebrate the Birth of Jesus together, in a fun and dramatic way. Cast members of all ages will create, rehearse and present a complete Christmas play in one easy event. With just one hour of rehearsal, four scenes involving everyone who attends, original script and music will come together in a fun time of fellowship.
"Bethlehem Bound" presents Jesus as the real star of Christmas. Marty and Ramona, a Bible-times couple, lead the way to Bethlehem on the night of Jesus' birth. En route, they encounter Mary and Joseph, a musical caravan, Wise Ones going to meet the baby king, harmonic angels, and shepherds with a flock of inspiring sheep - all played by families decked out with creative props they have just created.
"There was such a positive feedback from last year's play that we decided to do it again this year," Ministry Coordinator Julie Burnside said. "It is very casual. You don't have to be a great actor or singer to participate. It is designed to involve the entire family. We hope families will take advantage of this opportunity."
