Lenten Worship Schedule Announced

Kng of Glory's Lenten worship services will begin on Wednesday, February 20. The worship services will be from 6:30-7 p.m. each Wednesday. Please join us for supper each week beginning at 5:30 p.m. Individuals are asked to RSVP via the church web site (/supper-rsvp) or by calling the church office at (605) 271-3456.

The Lenten Worship Services will be simple Scripture and Praise services where we have some scripture readings along with some songs of praise. Each week there will be a short meditation on a different piece of the Lord's Prayer. This will be an opportunity for us to deepen our prayer lives as we take time to focus on each petition in the Lord's Prayer.

A portion of King of Glory's Lenten Offerings will go to further the Bible translation ministry of King of Glory members Shedd and Kris Waskosky. The Waskoskys serve the Salasaca Quichua people of Ecuador, working to translate the Bible into their native language so that they have the opportunity to know Christ and have access to God’s Word in a language they understand best. They also help with physical, relational and community needs in Salasaca. In their most-recent trip to Ecuador they finished the comprehension check of 1 Corinthians and scheduled the consultant check of that book for April 1-5. Also, progress was made on the future Salasaca Quichua web site. The donations given to them will help them with getting faster internet access in the village of Salasaca as well as travel costs for their semi-annual trips there.

Following the Lenten service each week there will be a special "Reaching the Next Generation" class/conversation from 7:10-7:40 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to participate in this class as we talk about how we are going to make discipels of Jesus for the coming generations.

This will be a class for parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, mentors and anyone who is concerned about caring for the younger generations. We will be using some material from Chap Clark, who is a seminary professor at Fuller Theological Seminary, and we will also use some material from a book called "You Lost Me" which details how young people are leaving the church.

During Lent, there will be no change to the schedule for the King's Kids. They will continue to meet from 6:30-7:45 p.m. However, the schedule for those in Student Ministries will change. Students are encouraged to attend the Lenten worship service. Then the Student Ministries, middle school and high school students combined, will meet from 7:10-7:40 p.m.
