The Phillipians small groups kick off this week with groups being held on three different nights.
The small groups will meet on Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. A majority of the groups will meet at the Sycamore Center, while two groups will meet in people's homes.
The first small group will meet on Sunday, September 16 with the other groups meeting on Wednesday, September 19, and Thursday, September 20. The small groups will then meet for seven weeks and conclude the week of October 29–November 3.
According to Pastor Rich, Phillipians deals with people and their pursuit of "joy."
"Everyone is seeking 'joy' in their lives," he said. "God’s Word will give us a vision of how we can rejoice throughout life and what the source of joy should be. As we discover the source of joy, we will also discover that which should be our pursuit in life. The small groups will provide an opportunity to talk about the practical application of living out the teaching we find in Philippians. Philippians is a great book to memorize, but, more importantly, a great book to let direct our thinking, feeling, and actions. If you are interested in living a life of 'joy' then this is a series for you."
Each week Pastor Rich will deliver a sermon pertaining to that week's small group discussion. There are also a set of discussion questions that will be used each week, as well as additional questions that relate to that week's discussion.
