Summer is a Great Time to Build Friendships

The summer months provide people with numerous opportunities for members at King of Glory to connect and build friendships on the golf course and on the softball field.

Wednesday Golf Night

For golfers, there is the Wednesday Golf Night. Beginning on May 30, we will golf at Prairie Green Golf Course (600 E. 69th Street) and have reserved five tee times starting at 5:30 p.m.

We will create foursomes and tee off as people arrive. We encourage golfers of all skill levels to join us, as most of us do not want to let our golf game get in the way of having a great time! We will not have set teams, so please sign up even if your schedule will keep you from joining us on some of the nights.

After golf, we will head to the Gary and Randi Helder home for burgers and conversation. Even if you do not want to golf, we hope you will consider joining us for a meal and conversation starting around 8:30 p.m.

So if you are interested in a fun golf night, please sign up by emailing Randi and Gary Helder at grhelder@gmail.com. On approximately Saturday of each week we will send a reminder email to everyone who signs up.

King of Glory has two softball teams to allow players of all skill levels to enjoy some fellowship on the diamond.

The men’s competitive team is playing in the "B" Division of the Sioux Falls Church Softball League this season.

The 10-team division will play its games on Tuesday nights at Sherman Park, located at 12th Street and Kiwanis Ave., just north of the Great Plains Zoo.

Each week, the team plays two games each week, beginning at either 6:30 p.m. or 8:30 p.m. Admission is FREE.

If you are interested in playing on the team, please contact Kyle Helder at 651-285-3613 or email him at kyle@kingofglorysf.org.

In addition, there is a co-ed team that plays its games on Monday nights. This team is a recreational team in a more relaxed setting.

Because of scheduling the team will play one game some weeks, while playing doubleheaders on other weeks. Like the men's team, games will be played at Sherman Park and admission is FREE.

Anyone interested in playing on this team should contact Derek Hackett at 605-270-2564 or email him at derek.hackett@gmail.com
