The sale of Hy-Vee gift cards enjoyed a record month in March, generating $9,450 in sales. With there being five Sundays in April, the goal for the month has been set at $10,000.
So far, we are on pace to reach that goal. On Palm Sunday, April 1, $1,875 worth of cards were sold.
Purchasing the Hy-Vee gift cards are an easy way to raise money for King of Glory as Hy-Vee donates 5 percent of all sales back to the church for use in its programs. Until the end of May, all monies raised from the gift cards will go to the Student Ministries mission trip to Jamaica in May.
In March, a total of $472.50 was raised in gift card sales. Since the program began in October, that total is $1,473.75.
The gift cards can be used at any Hy-Vee location and for a variety of purchases, including groceries, gas and prescriptions. They are available in $100, $50 and $25 denominations.
Gift cards can be purchased on Sundays before and after the worship service and also on Wednesday nights. However, you can only pay for the cards with cash or by check.
